From looking at other reviews, note that this is a 10" by 10" bag. Its square, and its a good 4"-5" smaller than the average messenger bag. I would disagree that it looks like a purse. I carry this with me everywhere, and everyone compliments my bag and tells me they want one like it. It is a fairly unisex bag.
Since they just photographed the front of the bag, its hard to see the lay out of the bag. This bag has just the right amount of pockets for me, unlike other messenger bags I have. It has one that is flush with the backside, which is where I keep my phone and wallet, there are two pockets on the inside, and one mini pocket inside with a zipper where i keep spare batteries for my camera, business cards, and the like. All in all, its very handy.
One thing about this bag, even though its 10 in tall, I still keep regular sized notebooks and textbooks in it, so it's useful for school as well.
